Institutional Effectiveness Oversight Committee
The Institutional Effectiveness Oversight Committee (IEOC)
was established in April 2000 by Chancellor Emeritus
James H. Woodward. The role of the committee is to
advise the Chancellor annually on the status of planning
and evaluation at UNC Charlotte. There are seven
divisions at UNC Charlotte: Academic Affairs; Athletics;
Business Affairs; Development and Alumni Affairs;
Research and Federal Relations; Student Affairs; and
University Relations and Community Affairs. The vice
chancellors of each division and the Director of
Athletics ensure that their departments articulate goals
in their strategic plans that are linked to university
goals, and develop and implement plans for assessing the
achievement of those goals. Annually, the vice
chancellors and the Director of Athletics submit
institutional effectiveness reports which the IEOC uses
to assess the status of planning and evaluation in each
division and to advise the Chancellor.
